Step 4Lessons
Instead of chosing one of IM's fonts, you can use a ttf font that you find on various font sites available to all of us. I included a font site link on the front page for you to view and find fonts. Below, I have given you a ttf font url to use for practice.

To use it, click on the ttf font link below. You will get a pop up message stating this is a kind of information you cannot use. Don't believe it ė Click "continue" to click away the pop up message, then immediately click your "goto" button, delete the http:// thats there, then click "ShowLast". Copy the url and paste it in your "find" box to use later or write it down.   Font

Go get your saved blue banner to use for this lesson. Bring it to IM, paste it in, click "view". Click "annotate", type in some words, put in a color, keep it at center, and put a "pointsize" in.

Now, scroll down under the IM's font list box and you'll see a url box there. Go into your "find" box for the saved ttf url or type in what you wrote down. Paste the url in that box and then scroll up and click "annotate".

IM used the font you told it to use. You can now go to font sites and experiment with fonts that you would like to use. Sometimes if you use a ttf font in IM, it will not allow you to use the IM fonts in the same session, and vice versa. You would have to leave IM and go back and start anew. A bug I guess.

Some font sites have their fonts zipped. You would have to use an unzip tool to get the ttf font url. Hopefully, your website offers this feature, but if not, you can ask a friend to unzip it for you.

In the next step you will learn how to place text exactly where you want it on any image.
